Brazilian defender Lúcio has asked to be released from his contract with Indian Super League side FC Goa after the Indian government announced a clampdown on a vast number of pornographic websites.

The 37-year-old, capped 105 times for his nation and an ever-present member of the victorious 2002 World Cup squad, has spoken of being ‘disappointed’ to find that access to and was no longer being granted to him and his teammates.

He told reporters: ‘When people think of Goa, they always think of the beaches and the tourist traps. It’s an idyllic place to be. For about two weeks. If I can’t look at people giving each other rimjobs in the privacy of my own home, then I think it’s best to move on’.

The government have since rescinded their ban, but it may have come too late to save the fledgling league from losing at least one, vastly overpaid, over-weight and grossly under-sexed star player.
