Josep Guardiola has decided to move on from Bayern Munich at the end of this season and embark on a journey of career destruction with Manchester City, according to reports in Spain.
The 44-year-old is in the final season of a three year contract with the German giants, and is said to be ready to take on the challenge of seeing his reputation damaged beyond repair with a highly-paid and underwhelming few years in the English Premier League.
Spanish radio station Cadena COPE, in reporting on the Barcelona icon’s desire to swap Bavaria for Manchester, said: ‘Guardiola has decided on a change of scenery. He considers his time in Germany will end on 30 June after three seasons and, therefore, fulfil one of his wishes: to earn a boatload of money in England and then get sacked for finishing second in the league and getting knocked out of the Champions League group stage.
‘Also, Guardiola is believed to be excited about working with Kun Agüero’s hair, having had to look at Arjen Robben’s bald pate for the past few seasons’.
Current City boss Manuel Pellegrini signed a two-year extension to his contract in August, but it is thought that City’s hierarchy are willing to drive him to the Brecon Beacons, from where he will be released into the wild.
